AGE ELIGIBILITY
- 3-year-olds: Children born between 9/2/2021 to 12/01/2022. Children who turn 3 years old by December 1, 2025
- 3-year-olds born after 12/2/2022 may still be considered for enrollment, but may not start at the beginning of the school year on August 13, 2025. Start date for younger children will be determined at the discretion of the District Office.
- TK Eligibility: Children born 9/2/2020 - 9/1/2021 are eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. Please visit TK Information

APPLICATION PROCESS
An application must be completed for each child applying for PUSD Preschool. This year's application for new preschool families will be available online beginning Monday, February 3, 2025 by 3:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time). An email address and internet access will be required to create an account to complete an online application. The online application can be accessed through a mobile device, computer or tablet. Only one application can be submitted per child. All information provided on the application is subject to verification. Falsifying any of the information may disqualify the applicant from participating in the preschool program.
SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENROLLMENT IN PRESCHOOL
It is anticipated that the demand for preschool services may exceed the program capacity at most schools; therefore, it is extremely important that the application be completed and submitted within the initial application timeline (see timeline below). Applicants are accepted into the program based on the prioritization criteria outlined below, up to the capacity for each school's licensed program.
INITIAL APPLICATION TIMELINE (February 3, 2025 - February 28, 2025)
Applications will be available online beginning Monday, February 3, 2025 by 3:00 PM PST and must be completed and submitted online by Friday, February 28, 2025 at 9:59 PM PST to be included in the initial review and enrollment process.

- Returning PUSD Preschool student (Currently enrolled in 24-25 school year)
- 3-year-olds born between 9/2/2021 to 12/01/2022
- Children of PUSD employees
- Level of toileting independence (My child is in underwear and self sufficient in the restroom. They can go by themselves with little to no help needed.)
- Resides within PUSD school boundaries

The District has the right to discontinue or change these services including staff and program location at its discretion. If the services are not available or are discontinued at a particular school, the program may be available at another site. School start/end times listed below are subject to change. New Student Preschool Interest Application Open
While applications are accepted throughout the school year, the initial application window for new students starting in the program during the upcoming 2025-2026 school year is from February 3 through March 14, 2025. Applications submitted after March 14, 2025, will be considered in priority order, as space becomes available, according to the prioritization criteria listed above.

New families will be notified of spot or if placed waitlist
The Preschool department will notify Parents/guardians through email whether your child(ren) has been accepted to enroll in the program or placed on a waitlist. It will be sent to the email that you provided when you created an account for our Preschool Interest Application.
Your family will need to accept or decline your child's placement within 48 hours according to the date and time stamp referenced in the email. Failure to complete your acceptance within the 48 hours will forfeit your spot.
You can check the status of your application anytime by logging into your account with your username and password.
If your child is waitlisted and a spot becomes available at a later time during the 2025-2026 school year, your family will be contacted by our Preschool Department.
NOTE: Your interest application will be removed once you have accepted or declined the offered spot.

New families Complete Registration
Once notified of acceptance to the 2025-2026 school year, official Preschool enrollment links will be emailed to families. Families who have been notified and accepted a spot in the preschool program will complete the online registration. You are required to complete registration by April 27, 2025. Failure to complete your registration by April 27, 2025 will forfeit your spot.

Reopen Preschool Interest Application to all families
Applications submitted on or after April 8, 2025 will automatically be placed on the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, the Preschool Department will notify the parent/guardian through the email provided on the interest application. It is anticipated that the demand for preschool services may exceed the program capacity at most schools; therefore; it is a possibility that you may be on the waitlist for some sites for a longer period of time due to no availability.
