The 2024-25 Preschool Interest Application will reopen to all families on June 3, 2024

As we continue to improve our preschool registration and enrollment process to serve you better, we have been working diligently to consolidate our Google Interest Forms into one single application system. This significant change is aimed at making the registration and enrollment process more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly for all families.

Due to unforeseen circumstances encountered during this transition, we find it necessary to adjust our registration and enrollment timeline for new families. This decision was not made lightly; our team is committed to ensuring a smooth and reliable application experience, and we believe this adjustment is crucial to meet our standards of service and convenience for you.

2024-25 New Student Enrollment: Preschool

Effective for the 2024-2025 school year, new applications to the PUSD Preschool program will be managed through a single application and interest list.

AGE ELIGIBILITY

4-year-olds: Children born between 6/3/2020 to 12/1/2020
3-year-olds: Children born between 12/2/2020 to 12/1/2021
3-year-olds born after 12/1/2021 may still be considered for enrollment, but may not necessarily start at the beginning of the school year on August 21, 2024. Start date for younger children will be determined at the discretion of the District Office.
If your child is born between 9/2/2019-6/2/2020, they are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten. Please contact your neighborhood school directly for enrollment information or visit the district webpage about Transitional Kindergarten.
Children with a 5th birthday between September 2, 2023 and September 1, 2024 (born between September 2, 2018 and September 1, 2019) are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. Kindergarten Information

APPLICATION PROCESS

An application must be completed for each child applying for PUSD Preschool. This year's application for new preschool families will be available online beginning Monday, April 1, 2024, by 12:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time). An email address and internet access will be required to create an account to complete an application. The application must be completed and submitted online. You may access the application through a mobile device such as a cell phone or tablet with internet connection.

All information provided on the application is subject to verification. Falsifying any of the information may disqualify the applicant from participating in the preschool program.

SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENROLLMENT IN PRESCHOOL

It is anticipated that the demand for preschool services may exceed the program capacity at most schools; therefore, it is extremely important that the application be completed and submitted within the initial application timeline (see timeline below). Applicants are accepted into the program based on the prioritization criteria outlined below, up to the capacity for each school's program.

INITIAL APPLICATION TIMELINE (April 1, 2024 - April 24, 2024)

Applications will be available online beginning Monday, April 1, 2024 by 12:00 PM PST and must be completed and submitted online by Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 9:59 pm PST to be included in the initial review and enrollment process.

APPLICATION PRIORITIZATION CRITERIA

Returning PUSD Preschool student (Currently enrolled in 23-24 school year)
4-year-olds (not currently eligible for TK)
New incoming 3-year-olds born on or before December 1st
Children of PUSD employees
Level of toileting independence (My child is in underwear and self sufficient in the restroom. They can go by themselves with little to no help needed)
Resides within PUSD school boundaries

2024/2025 Enrollment Timeline:

April 1 - 24, 2024	New Student Preschool Interest Application Open Applications are accepted throughout the school year. Applications submitted after April 24, will be considered in priority order, as space becomes available, according to the prioritization criteria listed above.
May 7 - 9, 2024	New families will be notified of spot or if placed waitlist The Preschool department will notify Parents/guardians through email whether your child(ren) has been accepted to enroll in the program or placed on a waitlist. It will be sent to the email that you provided when you created an account for our Preschool Interest Application. Your family will need to accept or decline your child's placement, by Thursday, May 9, 2024. Failure to complete your acceptance by May 9, 2024 will forfeit your spot. You can check the status of your application anytime through the link provided here: https://ams.powayusd.com/PreK/ NOTE: Your interest application will be removed once you have accepted or declined the offered spot. We are unable to make changes to your child’s interest application. If you have been waitlisted and a spot becomes available during the 2024-2025 school year, your family may be contacted by our Preschool Department.
May 13, 2024	New families Complete Registration Once notified of acceptance to the 2024-2025 school year, official Preschool enrollment links will be emailed to families. Families who have been notified and accepted a spot in the preschool program will complete the online registration. You are required to complete the online registration by May 17, 2024. Failure to complete your online registration by May 17, 2024 will forfeit your spot.
June 3, 2024	Reopen Preschool Interest Application to all families
